Police Launch Investigation After Woman Accuses Official of Forced Physical Relations

Una: An administrative officer is facing legal proceedings after a woman filed a formal complaint alleging he coerced her into physical relations after making false promises of marriage, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.

According to the victim's statement to police, she initially connected with the official through social media platforms, after which he extended multiple invitations for her to visit his workplace.

The complainant stated that approximately six weeks ago, she visited his office where he allegedly escorted her to his private chamber and proposed marriage. She claims that when she rejected his physical advances, he forcibly engaged in physical relations with her against her consent.

The woman further alleged that ten days following this incident, the officer arranged accommodation at the Una Rest House under someone else's identity, where he again attempted intimate contact with her.

When she threatened to report his behavior, the official allegedly began blackmailing her with video footage recorded at his office and subsequently reduced communication with her, according to the complaint.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Surendra Sharma from Una confirmed that based on the woman's complaint, authorities have registered a case under relevant BNS sections for sexual intercourse under false promise of marriage and criminal intimidation.

Law enforcement officials stated that the investigation is ongoing, and the complainant has undergone medical examination. Police are currently awaiting the medical report findings before proceeding further.
