A young woman suffered serious injuries after allegedly jumping from the platform at Supreme Court Metro Station on Tuesday, officials reported.

Police stated that a PCR call about the incident was received at 11.42 am at the Supreme Court Metro (SCM) Police Station. The caller reported that a woman had fallen from the platform and was being transported to Lady Hardinge Hospital for medical attention.

"A team was promptly dispatched to the location. Witnesses at the Aadhar Card Centre informed police they heard a loud noise before seeing a woman jump from the platform," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro Unit) Kushal Pal Singh in his statement.

The officer added that she initially became caught in an angle before falling to the roadside. PCR officers immediately transferred her to Lady Hardinge Hospital. The injured woman is approximately in her mid-twenties.

Medical staff at Lady Hardinge Hospital confirmed she is currently receiving treatment but remains unconscious.

Police officials stated that CCTV footage from the metro station is being reviewed to determine the sequence of events, and witness statements are being documented.

"We are investigating to establish the circumstances surrounding her jump. Currently, the woman is unconscious, and we have not been able to record her statement," the officer said, noting that the investigation continues.
