A 26-year-old man was fatally beaten by three neighbors over a suspected interfaith relationship in Lucknow's Saadatganj area, according to police statements on Tuesday.

Local police discovered Ali Abbas unconscious at the scene after responding to reports of an assault.
Authorities have detained two individuals allegedly involved in the incident, which occurred between Monday night and Tuesday morning, while a third suspect remains at large.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vishwajeet Srivastava reported that Himalaya Prajapati, Sonu, and Saurabh Prajapati allegedly lured Abbas to their residence under the pretense of discussing "his relationship with their sister" before violently attacking him with sticks, inflicting serious head trauma.
Police responded to information about the assault around 1 am, finding Abbas unconscious. Despite efforts to transport him to a trauma center, he succumbed to his injuries en route, according to Srivastava.
Based on a complaint filed by Abbas's father, Arif Zamir, authorities registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Saadatganj police station. Himalaya and Saurabh have been taken into custody, while Sonu remains fugitive.
During questioning, the two detained suspects admitted to the crime, claiming they were disturbed by Abbas's relationship with their sister, the DCP stated.
Senior officials have examined the crime scene, and Abbas's body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Legal proceedings continue as the investigation progresses.
