A 22-year-old madrasa teacher has been apprehended in Alwar for allegedly operating a sextortion racket with international connections, particularly to Bangladesh, authorities announced on Tuesday.

Soyav Khan, who hails from Gothda Khurd village, was taken into custody from his hideout in the Dholagarh Devi area as part of Operation Cyber Sangram, according to police officials.

Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary explained that Khan's modus operandi involved initiating video calls with his victims, persuading them to lower their defenses, and then secretly recording them during intimate moments.

Following this, Khan would threaten his victims with distributing the compromising footage to their family members unless they paid him money.

Upon examination of Khan's mobile device, investigators discovered numerous explicit conversations, nude videos, and financial transactions linked to numbers in Bangladesh and various other countries, the SP revealed.
