New Delhi:
Nitin Nabin, the newly-appointed national working president of the BJP, officially assumed his responsibilities on Monday. Senior party leaders expressed confidence that his organizational capabilities would bring fresh momentum to the party's public service and nation-building initiatives.
A special felicitation ceremony was held at BJP headquarters, attended by prominent figures including party president and Union Health Minister JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, among other dignitaries.
JP Nadda extended warm congratulations to Nabin, expressing complete confidence that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance, the new working president would provide innovative direction to BJP's public service journey. Nadda stated on X, "You will disseminate the BJP government's welfare policies and organizational principles to citizens with enhanced determination. My best wishes for your new responsibilities and successful tenure."
Home Minister Amit Shah's congratulatory message conveyed strong belief that under Nabin's leadership, the BJP would achieve further expansion while effectively communicating Modi government policies and party ideology to every citizen across the nation. "I offer prayers for your successful tenure," Shah posted on X.
Following Nabin's official installation, Shah, Nadda, and Pradhan engaged in strategic discussions with him.
Nabin had arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport from Patna in the afternoon, just one day after his appointment as BJP working president. Delhi Chief Minister Gupta and several party leaders welcomed him at the airport. Gupta, accompanied by numerous ministerial colleagues, also attended the ceremony at party headquarters when Nabin took charge.
After assuming his new position, Nabin sought blessings from veteran BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
At 45, Nabin previously served as a minister in Nitish Kumar's National Democratic Alliance government in Bihar. His appointment as national working president on Sunday suggests he may eventually succeed Nadda as president, signaling a generational transition within the ruling party.
The son of late BJP veteran and former MLA Nabin Kishore Prasad Sinha, party leaders describe Nabin as dynamic, ideologically grounded, and deeply committed to the organization. He also has roots in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
A five-time MLA representing Bankipur Assembly constituency in Patna, Nabin has twice held ministerial positions in the Bihar government. Party leaders highlighted his exceptional performance during his tenures as Bihar minister and as party in-charge of Chhattisgarh, noting his effective organizational leadership.
The BJP parliamentary board selected Nabin for this significant position. Currently, he serves as the PWD minister in Bihar.
