Some local residents suggest that Amarnath struggled with the challenges of raising five children following his wife's death. Others claim he had accumulated debt from a private financial institution and was experiencing pressure to repay it.

The Final Evening

Investigators found broken eggshells in the kitchen, indicating that Amarnath had prepared eggs for his children before the tragic events unfolded. According to initial information, Amarnath instructed all five children to stand on a trunk while he placed nooses made from sarees—reportedly belonging to their deceased mother—around their necks. Amarnath then secured a similar noose around his own neck. He directed the children to jump off the trunk as he did the same. The two sons did not follow this instruction, which saved their lives.

Six-year-old Shivam recounted that he was playing with his father's mobile phone when Amarnath called him and his siblings. His father subsequently placed nooses around their necks, leading to the horrifying outcome.
