Major Drug Bust: Maharashtra Police Seize Rs 100 Crore Worth MD Drugs and Equipment in Rajasthan Factory

A case was registered under the NDPS Act following the operation.

The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Maharashtra police has discovered an MD drug manufacturing facility in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, where they confiscated drugs, chemicals, and equipment estimated to be worth approximately Rs 100 crore, according to officials on Monday.

During a raid conducted on Sunday by the Mira Bhayander-Vasai Virar (MBVV) police's Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC), one individual was apprehended at the drug manufacturing site.

The operation began after intelligence-driven search activities by the ANC team on October 4. The initial operation in Thane district resulted in the seizure of 501.6 grams of MD (mephedrone) drug valued at Rs 1 crore, eight mobile devices, and two motorcycles.

MBVV Police Commissioner Niket Kaushik stated during a press conference that six individuals were arrested at that time.

A case was subsequently filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Kashigaon police station in the area.

As the investigation progressed, law enforcement arrested four additional suspects and seized MD drug worth Rs 20 lakh, two four-wheelers, a motorcycle, and six mobile phones related to the criminal activity.

Based on vital information obtained during further investigation, an MBVV police team was dispatched to Rajasthan.

On Sunday, the team conducted a raid on a factory in Jhunjhunu where an individual identified as Anil Vijaypal Sihag was allegedly manufacturing MD drug illegally, according to the official.

The police team confiscated approximately 10 kg of the contraband, various chemicals, and manufacturing equipment, with a combined value of nearly Rs 100 crore. The official added that the person found at the facility was arrested.
