International Athlete Murdered After Standing Against Harassment at Wedding Ceremony: Three Arrested

Three suspects have been arrested in Bengaluru for the murder of Rohit Dhankhar, an international bodybuilder and six-time national gold medalist. The athlete was fatally attacked after confronting individuals making inappropriate remarks toward women at a wedding in Bhiwani, Haryana. The accused deliberately crashed their vehicle into Dhankhar's car before assaulting him, resulting in fatal injuries.

3 Arrested For Murder Of Athlete Who Called Out Indecent Behaviour At Wedding

Authorities in Haryana have apprehended three individuals in relation to the killing of Rohit Dhankhar, an international athlete and six-time national gold medalist.

According to the police report filed by Dhankhar's mother, Rohit was present at a wedding celebration in Bhiwani on November 27 when he strongly confronted individuals making inappropriate comments toward women during the wedding procession, resulting in a confrontation.

Later that night, as Rohit and a companion were traveling home, the suspects deliberately crashed their vehicle into Rohit's car. They subsequently attacked Rohit violently, causing critical injuries to his head and body with lethal intent, as stated in the complaint. The athlete subsequently succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment.

The suspects were captured in Bengaluru and have been identified as siblings Varun and Tarun, along with Deepak Singh, all from Bhiwani district. Law enforcement officials confirmed that a case has been registered under various provisions of the Bharat Nyay Sanhita and the investigation continues.

Rohit, who resided in Rohtak district, was a renowned bodybuilder on the international stage and had earned six gold medals in national competitions.
