Guwahati:

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that the motive and criminal conspiracy have been clearly identified and thoroughly examined by the Advocate General. Several individuals have been charged with murder, one with culpable homicide, and two PSOs face additional charges, according to the Chief Minister.

In his media address, Sarma stated, "The motive and criminal conspiracy have been clearly tracked. It has been examined by the Advocate General and reviewed by the Director General of Prosecution. Everyone is confident that conviction is possible."

He added, "As promised, we have filed the chargesheet today under Section 103 of BNS and other relevant sections. We have submitted a chargesheet containing 12,000 pages of documentation along with the main chargesheet and seizures as examination of witness. This has been a meticulously executed process."

"Although we have obtained documents from Singapore, we have built our case using our independent documentation. Even if the court determines that Singapore documents are inadmissible, we have structured the chargesheet in such a way that the evidence collected in Assam is sufficient to substantiate the charges," Sarma explained.

"After extensive investigation and diligent work, we have submitted the chargesheet to the court. We have the utmost respect for our judiciary and recognize their independence and impartiality. We believe the judiciary will deliver justice and fair treatment to the victims. Now that the matter is before the court, we are confident justice will be served," stated Sarma.

For Assam, the next steps involve approaching the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court to request a Fast Track Court and then appointing a Special Public Prosecutor.

"These proceedings will commence after the case is committed to the Session Judge and the Session Judge takes cognizance of this case."
