Iltija Mufti Praises 'Dhurandhar' For Strong Female Representation: "Not Just Props Like in Most Violent Bollywood Movies"

Iltija Mufti, daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, has shared her positive review of the recently released film 'Dhurandhar' on social media.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Iltija described the movie as "pretty good" and particularly commended it for its portrayal of women characters who weren't reduced to "mere props" as often seen in Bollywood action films. She also highlighted the "perfect" casting of the film.

In her social media post, Iltija wrote: "Much outrage over Dhurandhar, but I quite liked the movie & found it interesting. The casting especially is perfection. Women, for once, as is the case in most violent Bollywood movies, weren't used as props. Very well made." Since its release, Dhurandhar has created significant online debate, dividing internet opinion sharply.

The film has received mixed reactions from audiences. Some critics have accused it of being propaganda and misrepresenting facts, while supporters praise its honest depiction of real-life events and its portrayal of terrorism's impact both nationally and internationally.

Dhurandhar, which hit theaters nationwide on December 5, is directed by Aditya Dhar, who is known for his work on thought-provoking sociopolitical dramas.
