UP Woman Dies By Suicide After Going Live On Facebook

Lucknow: A 24-year-old woman tragically ended her life in the Vibhuti Khand area after broadcasting live on Facebook, according to police statements released Friday. The incident occurred on Thursday.

Amar Singh, the Station House Officer, confirmed that the young woman originated from Ambedkar Nagar district and was residing in a rented accommodation in the area.

Officials revealed that she had previously filed a complaint against a local journalist in Ambedkar Nagar. Additionally, she had submitted a complaint against a military personnel approximately five to seven months earlier, alleging that he had deceived her after making marriage commitments.

According to police reports, the woman initiated a Facebook live stream around 5:30 am, which prompted Meta to notify the police control room.

The SHO explained that the room was secured from within, and the time required to breach the entrance delayed their intervention. He added that she might have been rescued had they gained access sooner.

She was transported to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced her deceased.

Authorities stated that in the suicide video, she declared her intention to end her life and emphasized she was not staging the event. She did not implicate anyone in her final message.
