The bride stated the groom admitted to being medically unfit for intimate relations.

In Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, a newly-wed woman has requested a divorce merely three days following her marriage. She alleges that her husband confessed during their wedding night that he was physically unable to engage in marital relations, according to police statements released Wednesday.

The bride's relatives assert that a subsequent medical examination confirmed the groom "cannot become a father," leading them to demand reimbursement for gifts and wedding expenses.

In her legal notice, the woman declared: "I cannot spend my life with a man who is physically incapable. I discovered this on our wedding night when he personally informed me." The 25-year-old groom, the only son of a prosperous farming family in Sahjanwa, works as an engineer at an industrial facility in the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA).

The marriage was arranged through family connections in Beliapar, where the bride's family resides. The couple wed on November 28, with the 'vidai' ceremony taking place the following day.

The situation became known on December 1 when the bride's father visited her at her in-laws' residence for a traditional ritual.

The bride reportedly disclosed to him privately that the groom had acknowledged being medically unsuitable for marital relations.

She was immediately taken back to her parents' home without informing the groom's family.

Both families convened on December 3 at a relative's home in Beliapar, where the bride's family accused the groom's relatives of concealing his medical condition.

They further alleged this was the groom's second unsuccessful marriage – with the previous bride reportedly leaving within a month of marriage two years earlier for similar reasons.

With both families' consent, the groom underwent a medical examination at a private hospital in Gorakhpur, which reportedly indicated he was medically unfit and "cannot become a father," according to the bride's family.

When the groom's father initially refused to accept these findings, the bride's family approached Sahjanwa police and demanded the return of all gifts and money given during the wedding.

Following police intervention, a resolution was reached. The groom's family agreed to return Rs 7 lakh in wedding expenses and all gifts within one month. Both parties signed an agreement in relatives' presence.

Sahjanwa SHO Mahesh Chaubey confirmed receiving a complaint, stating, "Both families are in communication, and the matter is being resolved mutually."
