Shital Tejwani has been arrested in the Mundhwa land deal case
Pune:
According to activist Vijay Kumbhar, Shital Tejwani, the primary suspect arrested in the Mundhwa land deal case connected to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's son Parth Pawar's company, had previously filed a lawsuit against Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor in 2018 regarding a flat in Pune.
Tejwani had sought compensation for damages from Kapoor concerning his flat in Trump Tower in Pune. In 2018, Kapoor had evicted tenants from his Trump Tower flat before their contract ended. Tejwani claimed at that time that Kapoor had removed the tenants without providing prior notice.
She filed for compensation in court and sued Kapoor for Rs 50.40 lakh. "The case remains in the evidence stage," Kumbhar noted, adding that the next hearing is scheduled for January 5, 2026, in a Pune court.
In 2016, she allegedly defrauded a school owner in Pune as well.
Pune Police arrested Shital Tejwani last week in connection with the controversial sale of government land in the Mundhwa area to a company owned by Ajit Pawar's son Parth Pawar. This marked the first arrest in this high-profile case.
Tejwani allegedly arranged a Rs 300 crore deal to sell the 40-acre land parcel to Parth Pawar and his business partner Digvijay Patil's firm, Amadea Enterprises LLP, acting as a power of attorney for 272 former landowners.
The land actually belongs to the government, which has leased it to the Botanical Survey of India.
In addition to Tejwani, the other accused in the case include Patil and suspended tehsildar Suryakant Yeole, who allegedly abused his authority by issuing eviction notices to the Botanical Survey of India. They face charges of cheating, criminal breach of trust, and other related offenses.
Parth Pawar was not named as an accused since his name did not appear on the sale deed, according to earlier police statements.
