Jharkhand Woman Stabs Husband To Death Over Money, Phone

A woman allegedly stabbed her husband to death at their home following a dispute in Jharkhand's Jamtara district.

In a shocking incident in Jharkhand's Jamtara district, a woman allegedly killed her husband by stabbing him during a domestic altercation, according to police statements on Monday.

The fatal incident occurred on Sunday night in the Pipeline area of Mihijam, within the jurisdiction of the Mihijam police station.

Police identified the deceased as Mahavir Yadav (40), originally from Bihar, who had been living in Mihijam with his family for many years.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Vikash revealed, "Mahavir Yadav was fatally stabbed by his wife, Kajal Devi, following an intense argument. The dispute began when Kajal demanded money and a mobile phone from her husband, which escalated into a violent confrontation resulting in her stabbing him with a knife."

"The deceased's remains have been transferred to a hospital for autopsy, and we have taken his wife into custody. The murder weapon has been secured from the crime scene. A formal FIR has been registered at Mihajaam police station, and she has been charged under Section (103) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)," the SDPO further stated.
