Tragic Murder-Suicide in UP's Bijnor: Father Poisons Children Following Marital Dispute

Bijnor:

Following a dispute with his wife on Saturday, a man allegedly poisoned his two children before consuming poison himself in Bijnor, resulting in all three deaths, according to police reports.

Chandpur Circle Officer (CO) Deshdeepak Singh stated that Baburam (28) took his five-year-old son Deepanshu and three-year-old daughter Harshika to a forested area near Mubarakpur Khadar village on Saturday afternoon. Baburam first administered poison to both children before taking it himself.

After authorities were alerted, all three individuals were transported to a hospital where medical professionals pronounced them dead, the CO confirmed.

Police investigators believe the tragedy stems from ongoing marital discord.

According to family members who spoke with police, tensions had been escalating between the husband and wife for several days prior to the incident.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Prakash Kumar reported that the incident took place in Mubarakpur Khurd village, with police receiving notification from the hospital during the evening hours.

Baburam's remains are being sent for post-mortem examination, while the bodies of the children have been taken to their village by family members, the ASP added.
