Political Rivals Ajit and Rohit Pawar Unite in Dance at Family Wedding in Bahrain

In a rare display of family unity transcending political differences, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and his political rival nephew Rohit Pawar were captured dancing together to the popular Marathi song Zingaat during Jay Pawar's wedding celebrations in Bahrain. Despite representing opposing NCP factions in Maharashtra politics, the two demonstrated that family bonds remain strong even amid political rivalries, showcasing a touching moment that highlights how personal relationships can exist separately from professional disagreements.

Political adversaries Ajit and Rohit Pawar demonstrated a touching moment of family unity as they danced together to the renowned Marathi track Zingaat. This popular song has gained such widespread acclaim that it has been adapted into various Indian languages, including a Hindi version for the 2018 film Dhadak. The dance occurred during the wedding festivities of Ajit's younger son Jay in Bahrain.

NCP (SP) Member of Parliament Supriya Sule posted several photographs and videos from the celebration on her social media accounts. The footage captures both Ajit Pawar and Rohit Pawar enthusiastically dancing to the lively song during Jay Pawar's wedding procession.

Sule shared the celebration with the caption: "Jay Ki Baraat! ????????✨Best wishes to Jay and Rutuja as they begin a beautiful new journey together. ????❤️Missing being with the kids in Bahrain today."

Unfortunately, Supriya Sule could not attend the wedding due to the commencement of Maharashtra's winter legislative session. Sharad Pawar was also not present at the festivities.

Jay Pawar, the youngest son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar and his spouse Sunetra Pawar, represents the third generation of the prominent Pawar family. He is primarily recognized for his business endeavors rather than political involvement.

The sight of Rohit Pawar dancing alongside Ajit Pawar was particularly significant given their political differences. Ajit Pawar heads the NCP (R) faction and serves as Deputy Chief Minister in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, while Rohit Pawar is a legislator from the NCP (Sharad Pawar) faction. Nevertheless, family occasions bring them together, demonstrating mutual respect despite their political rivalries.

Although the Bahrain wedding celebrations showed Ajit and Rohit Pawar dancing together, their interactions in Maharashtra the previous month also highlighted a unique blend of family warmth and political competition between them.

In a lighthearted moment, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar jokingly told Rohit that had he campaigned in his nephew's assembly constituency, winning would have been considerably more challenging for Rohit. In the recent Maharashtra assembly elections, Rohit, who is the grandnephew of NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, successfully defended his Karjat Jamkhed seat in Ahilyanagar district, narrowly defeating BJP's Ram Shinde by a margin of 1,243 votes.

The two political figures met during a visit to the memorial of Maharashtra's first Chief Minister, YB Chavan, on his death anniversary. While congratulating his nephew, Ajit remarked, "Come, take my blessings. You barely survived. Had I held a rally in Karjat Jamkhed, imagine what would have happened." Rohit respectfully touched his feet and later described Ajit as a "father figure," illustrating how family bonds often transcend political differences.
