Airports across India have implemented additional measures to manage the disruptions caused by IndiGo flight cancellations.

Various airports have mobilized available resources to assist affected passengers within terminal buildings. While IndiGo personnel are overwhelmed dealing with thousands of frustrated travelers, airports have made special arrangements to provide comfort to passengers experiencing extended waits. This evening, IndiGo CEO Peter Elbers urged passengers with canceled flights to avoid coming to airports.

NDTV spoke with travelers at Mumbai airport who reported IndiGo staff were unavailable, leaving CISF and CSMIA officials to provide guidance.

Security personnel were observed directing passengers to IndiGo counters, as many travelers had already completed check-in procedures and reached departure gates before learning about cancellations. The CISF, responsible for airport security, has been managing passengers stranded overnight in some instances.

"I was traveling to Dubai and was informed my flight was rescheduled. Now they say there will be a flight at 6:30. But they seem uncertain," a passenger told NDTV after being directed to the IndiGo counter.

IndiGo check-in areas were filled with staff struggling to address inquiries from confused passengers seeking information about alternative flights or refund options.

A group traveling to Ayodhya informed NDTV that the airline failed to notify them about their flight cancellation until airport staff disclosed it.

"We were simply told they aren't flying today. We received our boarding passes and have been here since 7:30 in the morning. We were traveling to Ayodhya with my entire family. Our entire plan is canceled. I've lost my return fare and hotel bookings, and they aren't offering refunds. My family has lost approximately Rs 4-5 lakhs," an IndiGo passenger revealed to NDTV.

During these ongoing flight disruptions, passengers traveling through Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Mangalore, and Guwahati airports can access real-time flight updates via Adani OneApp by visiting www.adanione.com. Checking flight status before departing for the airport is recommended. This enables passengers to monitor their flights and stay informed, minimizing inconvenience from schedule changes.
