2 BRS Local-Body Poll Candidates Die By Suicide In Telangana

Telangana authorities reported two separate suicide incidents involving BRS Party candidates participating in upcoming local-body elections. The tragic events occurred in Nirmal and Nalgonda districts, according to police statements released Thursday.

In Nirmal district, officials discovered the husband of a BRS Party sarpanch candidate deceased at his residence early Thursday morning within the Khanapur police jurisdiction. The 54-year-old man reportedly died by hanging.

A police representative stated, "The deceased committed suicide by hanging early this morning. His wife is contesting as a sarpanch candidate representing the BRS Party. We have registered a case and initiated an investigation, and the body has been transported for post-mortem examination."

Authorities continue gathering additional information about the Nirmal incident.

In Nalgonda district, a 40-year-old female ward-member candidate from the BRS Party was found deceased at her home within the Chityal police station boundaries. She also allegedly died by suicide.

Police officials noted, "This incident occurred yesterday, with her husband subsequently filing a complaint. We have registered a case, sent the deceased's body for post-mortem examination, and are investigating the circumstances."

Investigations remain ongoing in both cases.
