AI Recruitment Firm Promises H-1B Sponsorship Despite Restrictions: Impact on IIT-Delhi Students

A US-based artificial intelligence recruitment firm has captured attention at IIT-Delhi with bold advertisements promising continued H-1B visa sponsorship despite increasing restrictions. This comes as welcome news to students worried about stricter US immigration policies, including a $100,000 fee increase for visa applications starting in 2025. Indian tech students view these opportunities as valuable for gaining international exposure despite Trump administration's crackdown on the visa program widely used by Indian technology professionals.

'We Sponsor H-1Bs': AI Firms Post Creates Buzz At IIT-Delhi Placements

New Delhi:

A US-based artificial intelligence recruitment company has generated significant attention at IIT-Delhi following viral social media posts featuring their bold advertising hoardings about H1-B visa sponsorship.

The eye-catching hoardings prominently display messages such as "We still sponsor H-one-Bs" and "One hundred thousand dollars isn't going to stop us from hiring the best."

This marketing campaign has attracted particular interest during a time when many students harbor concerns about increasingly strict US visa regulations, including substantial fee increases for new H1-B visa applications. These visas permit US employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in specialized knowledge positions.

There is widespread concern that tightening visa requirements could potentially reduce international hiring opportunities and make global career prospects more difficult to secure.

For many IIT students currently navigating through the intense placement season, these advertisements appear to have resonated strongly.

Rohan Gupta, pursuing his BTech at IIT-Delhi, described the ads as encouraging. "I came across the post on social media... It was excellent marketing. It provided reassurance that companies still value Indian students, even amid stricter visa regulations," Gupta informed PTI.

Another student from the institute, Priya, noted that the viral campaign highlights the high regard for Indian talent internationally.

"It's widely recognized how proficient Indian students are in technology and AI fields. Seeing a company openly commit to continuing visa sponsorship is genuinely reassuring," she remarked.

Students from middle-class or lower-middle-class backgrounds expressed particular concern about missing international exposure opportunities due to elevated visa fees.

Arjun, a BTech student at IIT-Delhi, emphasized that overseas opportunities provide unparalleled learning experiences.

"While we definitely want to contribute to India's workforce, the diverse exposure one gains abroad in a dynamic environment is unique. Restrictive visa policies represent a significant setback. Therefore, companies offering sponsorship is extremely valuable to us," he explained.

Another student, commenting on the campus atmosphere, mentioned that the viral hoardings have intensified the emotional climate during placement season.

"During placement season, there's always a mixture of anxiety and excitement," the student observed.

The Donald Trump administration has implemented substantial measures to address perceived 'abuse' of the H-1B visa program, which companies, particularly in the technology sector, utilize to employ foreign workers in the United States.

Indian professionals, especially technology workers and physicians, constitute one of the largest groups of H-1B visa holders.

In September, US President Trump issued a proclamation titled 'Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers,' representing a significant initial step toward reforming the H-1B nonimmigrant visa program.

According to this proclamation, specific H-1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025, must include an additional USD 100,000 fee as an eligibility requirement.
