A Somalia-destined vessel erupted in flames while docked at Gujarat's Porbandar Subhashnagar Jetty on Monday. Emergency response was immediately initiated, with three fire brigade units dispatched to combat the blaze, according to official reports.
The vessel, owned by Jamnagar-based company HRM & Sons, was carrying a significant cargo of rice intended for delivery to Bosaso, Somalia. As the fire intensified due to the flammable rice cargo, authorities made the decision to tow the ship away from the jetty into open waters for safety reasons.
