A Lamborghini lost control and crashed into a divider on Mumbai's Coastal Road on Sunday morning, with the driver fortunately escaping without injuries.
Mumbai:
On Sunday morning, a high-speed Lamborghini collided with a divider while traveling on Mumbai's Coastal Road. The driver of the luxury sports car emerged from the accident unharmed.
Authorities believe the wet roadway may have contributed to the crash, as Mumbai had experienced rainfall earlier in the day.
Footage of the accident has since gone viral online, prompting discussions about road safety concerns.
The 52-year-old driver, Atish Shah, a resident of Nepean Sea Road, was en route to Colaba in South Mumbai when he lost control of the vehicle. This loss of control caused the car to skid along the wet surface before crashing into the divider.
In the viral video footage, the Huracan Lamborghini can be observed speeding on the rain-slicked road before the collision. The luxury vehicle spun multiple times before finally coming to a stop, as documented in the recording.
The front portion of the high-end automobile, valued between Rs 4-5 crore, sustained extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene.
According to PTI reports, Worli police have requested that the Regional Transport Office (RTO) examine the vehicle to determine if any technical malfunction contributed to the accident.
Authorities have filed a case against Mr. Shah under relevant sections pertaining to rash driving.
Gautam Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of Raymond Ltd, shared the accident footage on both Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) with the caption "Another day, another Lamborghini mishap."

Expressing his concern, Mr. Singhania questioned, "Do these cars even have traction? From catching fire to losing grip - what's going on with Lamborghini?"
The incident prompted numerous reactions from social media users.
One commenter placed responsibility on the driver for failing to account for the road conditions, stating: "This particular incident seemed to be driver's fault as the water conditions were pretty evident! There was a lot of water, so it was easy to be a victim of hydroplanning!"
Another user expressed a similar view: "Wrong tyres for wet roads... Owners don't understand the dynamics of tyres and air pressure with the physics of speed and weight..."
"This is what happens when poorly skilled drivers get powerful engines," remarked a third commenter.
