Bhopal: A violent confrontation in Chhattisgarh's Durg left multiple residents seriously injured after two women and two girls attacked them with acid and blades. The shocking incident occurred in the Siddharth Nagar area, sending waves of fear through the local community.

What began as a neighborhood intervention quickly escalated into a dangerous altercation. Local residents had gathered to address concerns about alleged immoral activities taking place at the girls' home, but the situation rapidly deteriorated.

According to police reports and witness statements, criminal activities have been increasing in the city, though attacks of this nature remain uncommon. Residents claimed the girls had been engaging in inappropriate behavior, frequently inviting unknown individuals to their residence and allegedly using drugs, which concerned parents worried about influences on local children.

Around 9:30 pm Monday evening, several concerned neighbors approached the girls' home to discuss these issues and request they stop bringing unfamiliar men into the neighborhood. However, the conversation quickly turned confrontational.

Witnesses described how the girls became enraged, retreated inside their home, and emerged armed with sharp blades and toilet cleaner believed to contain acidic chemicals. Without warning, they splashed the caustic substance at the group assembled outside.

Several residents suffered severe burns to their faces and eyes, with some experiencing potential vision damage. The attackers allegedly proceeded to assault others with blades, causing deep lacerations. The situation further escalated as stones were also hurled at the crowd, creating panic throughout the narrow street.

As injured residents called for help, chaos engulfed the neighborhood. Dozens of frightened and angered residents later gathered at the Durg City Kotwali police station demanding immediate action against the perpetrators.

Police officials confirmed that two of the accused are students, while the other two are employed. CSP Bhilai, Satyaprakash Tiwari, stated, "Residents of Siddharth Nagar reported a fight involving 4-5 girls. They threw acid and attacked with blades. People were enraged, and we immediately registered cases and made arrests. Some of the accused are students, some are working."

Soni Kurre, who suffered eye injuries during the attack, recounted the terrifying experience: "We went to request them not to call boys from outside. Suddenly they ran inside, came back with something like acid, and threw it. My eye got injured... then they attacked everyone with knives and blades."

Another victim, Nilesh Sandekar, reported that the girls refused reasonable conversation: "The girls abused us. They use drugs and call outsiders regularly. When we tried to talk, they argued and threw something into our eyes. They even threw stones."

Community members have expressed ongoing concerns about possible retaliation and worry about growing drug culture and criminal behavior among local youth. Authorities have increased police presence in the area to prevent further incidents.
