Karnataka Political Unity: Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar's Strategic Breakfast Diplomacy With 'Naati Koli'

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar demonstrate political unity through their second scheduled breakfast meeting featuring 'naati koli' (country chicken). This diplomatic engagement, backed by Congress central leadership, aims to strengthen their collaborative governance efforts and dispel rumors of internal party factions.

'Naati Koli' On Menu For Second Siddaramaiah-DK Shivakumar Breakfast Meet

Siddaramaiah mentioned earlier in the day that he had not received a breakfast invitation yet.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar are scheduled for their second breakfast meeting within a week, as Shivakumar has extended an invitation to the Chief Minister to visit his residence on December 2.

Advancing what has been termed as 'breakfast diplomacy' - fully endorsed by the Congress central leadership - Shivakumar announced that 'naati koli' (country chicken), reportedly Siddaramaiah's favorite dish, would be prepared for their breakfast engagement.

"I have invited the Hon'ble Chief Minister for breakfast tomorrow to discuss and strengthen our collective efforts to deliver on our promises to Karnataka," the Deputy Chief Minister posted on X platform on Monday.

He emphasized that both leaders will continue their collaborative work as a team, with plans to enjoy the delicious 'naati koli' during their Tuesday meeting.

Earlier that day, Siddaramaiah stated he had not yet received a call from Shivakumar regarding the breakfast invitation but affirmed he would attend whenever invited.

"If I am invited to breakfast by Shivakumar, I am ready to go. He had mentioned at the breakfast meeting (on November 30) that he would invite me. He told me I should come to his residence for breakfast on Tuesday. However, I haven't received any call yet. If he invites us, I will certainly attend," the Chief Minister explained.

"He (Shivakumar) may invite soon. I believe he will definitely invite me," he added.

Shivakumar, who serves as the state Congress chief and is considered a significant contender for the Chief Minister's position, stated last Saturday - following their breakfast meeting at the Chief Minister's residence - that he and Siddaramaiah were "united" and would follow the directives of the party high command.

"Today, I am pleased. The Chief Minister and I had a productive breakfast meeting. The Chief Minister will also visit my residence for dinner within the next two days," he had commented.

Earlier on Monday morning, when questioned about inviting the Chief Minister to his home, Shivakumar remarked that the matter was between just the two of them.

"Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and I are working together like brothers. We participated in the breakfast meeting only due to media pressure. You (the media) continuously claimed that there are factions and groups within the party," he stated.
