Kerala Lawyer Fatally Stabs Father and Critically Injures Mother in Shocking Family Violence Incident

Residents of Pullukulangara village in Kerala's Alappuzha district were shocked when a lawyer allegedly killed his father and severely wounded his mother in a brutal knife attack.

Navjeet, a 30-year-old attorney practicing at Mavelikkara court, reportedly assaulted his parents Natarajan (63) and Sindhu (49) with a knife during a violent encounter at their family home on Sunday evening.

When neighbors responded to screams coming from the residence, they discovered a horrifying scene with both parents lying wounded in pools of blood while Navjeet remained nearby still holding the weapon.

Law enforcement conducted a careful operation to apprehend the suspect, concerned about potential mob violence. They successfully took him into custody at the scene.

Despite emergency medical attention, Natarajan succumbed to his extensive injuries. Sindhu remains in critical condition at a Mavelikkara private hospital.

The victims sustained devastating wounds; Natarajan suffered deep lacerations across his body including his eyes, with several fingers severed. Sindhu's fingers were also severely cut during the attack.

According to sources, the family was financially comfortable, with Natarajan maintaining control over household finances and business matters.

Local residents suggest that disputes regarding money and authority, combined with the suspect's alleged consumption of alcohol and drugs prior to the incident, may have precipitated the violent outburst.

The tragedy occurred as Navjeet's wife Navya was preparing for hospital admission to give birth.

Navjeet's two siblings, both practicing Ayurvedic doctors, were not present during the incident.

Investigators are examining potential motives, including possible long-term family conflicts and substance abuse issues that might have contributed to the attack.

Community members expressed profound shock and sorrow, describing the incident as among the most disturbing family tragedies in recent local history.

Police officials confirmed the suspect remains in custody as their investigation continues.
