Vijay Kumar Sheoran, enrolled at the University of the West of England (UWE) in Bristol, became the victim of a tragic incident.

A devastating street attack in Worcester, central England, claimed the life of an Indian student on November 25. Authorities discovered Vijay Kumar Sheoran, 30, suffering from severe injuries on Barbourne Road during the early morning hours last Wednesday. Despite medical intervention, he succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.

Law enforcement officials have apprehended five individuals on murder suspicion, all currently released on bail as the investigation proceeds. A sixth suspect was released without further action.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Holehouse expressed condolences to the bereaved family and urged anyone possessing relevant information or footage from the vicinity to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Vijay Kumar Sheoran hailed from Jagrambas village located in Haryana's Charkhi Dadri district.

Reports indicate that he had resigned from his government position with the Central Board of Excise and Customs earlier this year.

He departed from his job to pursue advanced education in the United Kingdom.

Sheoran was a student at the University of the West of England (UWE) in Bristol.

His brother has requested diplomatic intervention to ensure thorough investigation of the death. In correspondence addressed to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Ravi Kumar sought assistance for repatriating his brother's remains to India. According to The Tribune, the letter stated that the family was "devastated by this unfortunate incident."

The letter further mentioned the family's difficulties navigating "foreign procedures, legal formalities, documentation, and financial aspects" involved in repatriation. He requested the ministry to direct the Indian High Commission in the UK to provide "immediate assistance" and support with necessary paperwork, coordination with authorities, and transportation arrangements to return the body home.

Haryana BJP MLA Sunil Satpal Sangwan expressed shock regarding Sheoran's "tragic death." In a social media post on X, he called upon central and state governments to provide all possible support to the family, particularly in expediting the repatriation process.

"We also appeal for a transparent, fair, and time-bound investigation so that justice is served and the perpetrators are held strictly accountable. My deepest condolences to the family. We stand firmly with them in this unbearable moment of grief," his statement read.
