Record 24,000 Runners Unite to Honor India's Armed Forces at 9th Adani Ahmedabad Marathon

Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park witnessed a remarkable display of community spirit and athletic endurance as over 24,000 participants gathered for the 9th Adani Ahmedabad Marathon. The event, centered around the meaningful theme #Run4OurSoldiers, served as a powerful tribute to India's Armed Forces, gaining special significance in light of Operation Sindoor.
Distinguished guests who inaugurated the marathon included Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises Ltd.; Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor; Major General Gaurav Bagga; fitness advocate and actress Mandira Bedi; Olympic medalist Gagan Narang; Preeti Jhangiani, Vice President of the Indian Olympic Association; and acclaimed designer Aaquib Wani, alongside senior executives from Adani Sportsline.
Indian cricket player and Gujarat Giants' recent addition Yastika Bhatia also graced the occasion with her presence. The event saw participation from more than 4,000 military and police personnel, reinforcing its core message of respect and solidarity with those who serve the nation.
Competitors took part in various categories including Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 km, and 5 km races, traversing a course that showcased Ahmedabad's iconic landmarks such as Gandhi Ashram, Atal Bridge, and Ellis Bridge. Award-winning designer Aaquib Wani created the official marathon jersey, capturing the event's essence and its homage to soldiers.
The marathon featured an impressive prize pool exceeding Rs 40 lakh distributed across multiple categories and age divisions. As an event recognized by the Athletics Federation of India and listed on the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races global registry, the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon has established itself as one of India's premier distance-running events.
Pranav Adani remarked during the event, "The Ahmedabad Marathon has evolved into a signature event embraced by our city since 2017. This year, our #Run4OurSoldiers message carried deeper significance as our Armed Forces demonstrated exceptional courage during Operation Sindoor. The participation of over 24,000 runners demonstrates how this event has transformed into a movement the city proudly claims as its own."

Seeing over 4,000 personnel running alongside thousands from across the nation was profoundly moving.
