A devastating fire erupted at a footwear establishment in south Delhi's Sangam Vihar today, resulting in four fatalities and leaving two women injured, according to Delhi Fire Service officials.

Authorities reported that two victims were burned beyond recognition, making identification impossible at this time. The other deceased individuals have been identified as Anita (38) and Satender (38).

Law enforcement received an emergency PCR call alerting them to the blaze that originated in the shop located on the ground level of a four-storey structure.

Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered the entire building consumed by flames.

A senior police officer indicated that the fire is believed to have initiated in the ground floor footwear shop before spreading upward through the building.

Four individuals were confirmed dead at the location, while emergency responders rescued two injured women from the building and transported them to a medical facility. An officer added that the condition of these two women is currently under medical observation.

Crime scene specialists and forensic teams have been summoned to examine the site, and evidence collection is underway to determine the precise cause of the fire, according to police.
