A police team promptly arrived at the location and interrupted the wedding ceremony.
Alwar:
On Friday, a police constable in Alwar was discovered allegedly attempting to marry a second woman while still legally bound to his first wife, according to officials.
The event took place at a local hotel where the constable, Jai Kishan, was reportedly trying to conduct a secretive wedding ceremony with only select family members present, police reported.
After learning about the situation, his first wife Reena arrived at the hotel with her family members and confronted the constable, as stated by police.
Bhupendra Singh, Reena's brother, revealed that Jai Kishan had married Reena in 2011. However, the marriage became strained when, six years later, Jai Kishan was discovered in a compromising position with another woman, which led Reena to move back to her parents' home.
Officers from the nearby police station quickly reached the scene and stopped the wedding ceremony, they confirmed.
