"Devil Quoting From Scriptures": BJP MP Hits Out At Pakistan's US Outreach
BJP MP Contrasts Indian and Pakistani Influence in America
Washington DC:
In a scathing critique, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya described Pakistan's delegation to New York led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as "the Devil quoting from the scriptures" during his remarks at the Indian Embassy in Washington, DC.
"It's deeply ironic that the Pakistani delegation speaks of peace," Surya remarked. "For a nation attempting to manufacture heroes by elevating failed generals to field marshal status, they clearly cannot recognize genuine leadership."
Addressing the military disparity between the two nations, Surya stated that Pakistan relies on "cheap Chinese imports" for its military equipment. He suggested that Pakistan struggles to accept India's superior military capabilities and robust democratic governance.
"Pakistan continues to depend on low-quality Chinese imports, including military hardware that has consistently failed in combat scenarios. They find it difficult to acknowledge India's high-caliber military equipment and strong democratic leadership across the border," he explained.
To illustrate the contrasting impact of Indians and Pakistanis in America, MP Surya provided specific examples. He cited Ramzi Yousef, responsible for the 1993 World Trade Centre bombing, and David Coleman Headley, implicated in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks conspiracy, as representatives of Pakistan's influence in the US.
"Let me highlight five names from each country that clearly demonstrate what India and Pakistan represent in America. From Pakistan: Ramzi Yousef of the 1993 World Trade Centre bombing and David Coleman Headley involved in 26/11 conspiracy charges. From India: Indra Nooyi, Sundar Pichai, Ajay Bagga, Satya Nadella, and Kash Patel—individuals who need no introduction. The contrast between our nations couldn't be more evident. Mr. Bhutto's brief two-day visit won't erase Pakistan's established record," the BJP MP asserted.
During a press conference at UN Headquarters in New York, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who led the Pakistani delegation, characterized India's Operation Sindoor as "illegal strikes" and claimed Pakistan acted in self-defense, according to Dawn reports.
MP Tejasvi Surya is part of India's cross-party delegation to the United States headed by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor. The delegation, which arrived in the US on Wednesday, includes representatives from multiple political parties: Shambhavi Chaudhary (Lok Janshakti Party), Sarfaraz Ahmed (Jharkhand Mukti Morcha), G M Harish Balayogi (Telugu Desam Party), Shashank Mani Tripathi, Tejasvi Surya, Bhubaneswar Kalita (all from BJP), Mallikarjun Devda (Shiv Sena), former Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu, and Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora.
