Senior IPS officer Y Puran Kumar died by suicide at his Chandigarh residence, leaving an eight-page note accusing multiple senior officers of mental harassment and psychological torture. His death came shortly after being implicated in a bribery case, which reportedly occurred without proper governmental authorization. The 2001-batch officer had recently been transferred from his position as Inspector General of Rohtak Range.
