Who Is Kasim Khan: Imran Khan's Son Speaks Out About Father's Detention Conditions

Kasim Khan, the 26-year-old younger son of Pakistan's former Prime Minister and cricket legend Imran Khan, recently gained significant media attention after raising serious concerns about his father's detention conditions. He accused Pakistani authorities of preventing his family from accessing his father for over a month and called for human rights organizations to intervene. Kasim has expressed alarm that his father is being kept in complete isolation and warned that the Pakistan government would be held accountable for any consequences resulting from this situation.

Born in 1999, Kasim Khan is the child of Imran Khan and his former spouse, British journalist Jemima Goldsmith. As the younger sibling of Sulaiman Isa Khan, Kasim spent his early years in Pakistan before relocating to London following his parents' separation. He pursued his education in anthropology and innovation at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom. Following his graduation in 2023, Kasim established Mifu, an innovative platform designed to connect influencers with brands and facilitate content monetization.

Like his elder brother Sulaiman, Kasim has maintained distance from political involvement. Imran Khan had previously stated that while his sons would visit him during his incarceration, they would not participate in political activities or join political parties.

In a recent social media statement, Kasim revealed that his father has been imprisoned for 845 days. "For the past six weeks, he has been kept alone in a death cell in an environment of complete isolation. His sisters have been barred from every meeting, despite clear court orders. No phone calls, no meetings, and no news of his well-being. My brother and I have not been able to contact our father in any way," he explained.

Amid circulating rumors suggesting Imran Khan had died in custody, Kasim firmly declared, "Let it be clear that the Pakistani government and its masters will bear full legal, moral, and international responsibility for my father's safety and every consequence of this inhumane isolation." Prison authorities have dismissed such speculation, asserting that the former prime minister remains in good health.

Imran Khan was born to Ikramullah Khan Niazi, a civil engineer who contributed significantly to the Pakistan movement, and Shaukat Khanum, a homemaker. He has four sisters: Rubina Khanum, Aleema Khanum, Uzma Khanum, and Rani Khanum.

The former cricket captain, once considered among the world's most eligible bachelors, has been married three times. His first marriage was to Jemima Goldsmith in 1995, with whom he had his sons Sulaiman and Kasim before they separated in 2004. Khan later married British Pakistani journalist Reham Khan in 2015, though their marriage lasted only a few months. In 2018, he wed Bushra Bibi, who had previously served as his spiritual advisor.
