Pakistani Leader Alleges Authorities 'Disappearing' People In Balochistan

Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman claimed Pakistani authorities are conducting enforced disappearances and kidnappings in Balochistan

In a significant revelation, Pakistani political figure Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman has publicly accused the country's authorities of orchestrating disappearances and abductions in Balochistan. This ongoing crisis has resulted in thousands of Baloch youth and activists being forcibly disappeared over years. The families of these victims continue to organize protests and strikes demanding the safe return of their relatives.

During a gathering in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, JUI-P leader Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman explicitly stated that individuals are being illegally abducted by Pakistan's deep state apparatus.

Despite condemnation from international human rights organizations, the violence persists without effective intervention.

Reed Brody, an American human rights lawyer and researcher, has expressed strong solidarity with Balochistan's population, calling for international accountability and independent investigations into the widespread human rights abuses occurring in the region.

At the 7th Balochistan International Conference hosted by the Baloch National Movement (BNM) at the Geneva Press Club, held alongside the 60th regular session of the UN Human Rights Council, Brody emphasized the critical nature of the situation.

Brody insisted that the international community cannot ignore Balochistan's plight. "We must press for independent investigations into enforced disappearances, unlawful killings, and the intimidation of women activists," he asserted. He additionally urged Pakistani authorities to cease the unlawful use of force, release individuals imprisoned for peaceful demonstrations, and restore internet connectivity in the affected regions.

Highlighting the importance of global solidarity, Brody affirmed, "The struggle for truth and accountability can be long, but it is never hopeless. Support the voices of victims, demand justice, and do not allow geopolitical interests to overshadow fundamental human rights."
