Apple has announced a reduction in positions across its sales teams as part of an initiative to enhance customer engagement strategies.
On Monday, Apple stated that these job cuts are designed to strengthen their customer engagement efforts, emphasizing that only a limited number of positions would be affected by these workforce reductions.
A representative from Apple informed Reuters that the company continues to recruit new talent and affected employees have the opportunity to apply for alternative positions within the organization.
According to Bloomberg News, which first reported this development, the staff reductions include account managers who serve major corporate clients, educational institutions, and government agencies.
Employees who manage Apple's briefing centers, which host institutional meetings and product demonstrations for potential customers, were also impacted by these cuts, Bloomberg reported.
One significant target of the workforce reduction was a government sales team that works with federal agencies, including the United States Defense Department and Justice Department, according to the report.
This team had already been experiencing challenging conditions following a 43-day government shutdown and restrictions implemented by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Bloomberg added.
In recent weeks, several major corporations including Verizon, Synopsys, and IBM have similarly announced workforce reductions.
