Donald Trump Shares Viral AI-Generated Football Video With Cristiano Ronaldo After White House Meeting

US President Donald Trump shared an artificial intelligence (AI)-generated video on his official Instagram account on Thursday (Nov 20), featuring himself playing football with Cristiano Ronaldo inside the White House, just days after dining with the Portuguese superstar.

In the caption accompanying the video, Trump wrote: "Ronaldo is a GREAT GUY. Loved meeting him at the White House. Really smart, and cool!!! President DJT." The footage shows Trump performing keep-ups, headers, and dribbles alongside the football icon.

The video depicts both individuals kicking a football around in the Oval Office, with Trump spinning to intercept the ball before kicking it toward the viewer.

The AI-created clip has accumulated nearly 34 million views and generated thousands of comments. Social media users responded with humor to the unusual content. One user commented on Trump's movement in the video, saying, "The way I see Trump bending to head the ball makes it more funny," while another remarked: "Haters will say it's AI."

A third commenter expressed surprise: "Bro, I really thought this was a meme page. This is the president of the USA. Lol."

Before Trump shared the video, Ronaldo posted several photographs with the US President on social media, expressing gratitude for the hospitality shown to him and his partner Georgina Rodriguez, whom he referred to as his "future wife."

"Thank you Mr President for your invitation and for the warm welcome you and the First Lady gave me and my future wife, @georginagio. Each of us has something meaningful to give, and I stand ready to do my part as we inspire new generations to build a future defined by courage, responsibility and lasting peace," Ronaldo wrote in his post.

The meeting between Trump and Ronaldo occurred during a state dinner organized to honor Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. During his speech at the event, Trump mentioned that his youngest son, Barron, is a "big-fan" of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

"Barron got to meet him. And I think he respects his father a little bit more, now, just the fact that I introduced you," Trump said. "So I just want to thank you both for being here. Thank you very much. Really an honour."

Ronaldo was seated near the front of the East Room, close to where the president and crown prince delivered their remarks to officials from both nations.
