Trump Reveals Trade Dispute Caused His Hoarse Voice: "Blew My Stack" During International Negotiations

US President Donald Trump explained his raspy voice resulted from shouting during heated trade negotiations with an unnamed country. Despite refusing to identify the nation involved, Trump disclosed recent progress in US-China trade talks, including tariff reductions and agreements on fentanyl crisis management. The president expressed optimism about future trade relations following his productive meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea.

Blew My Stack: Trump Says Shouting Over Trade Policy Gave Him Hoarse Voice

US President Donald Trump revealed that his noticeably hoarse voice resulted from an intense verbal confrontation with representatives of a foreign nation that allegedly attempted to modify an existing trade agreement.

Trump's raspy voice became evident during his Monday meeting with the White House task force on the FIFA World Cup 2026, prompting a reporter to inquire about his health. Trump reassured, "I feel great. I was shouting at people because they were stupid about something having to do with trade and a country, and I straightened it out, but I blew my stack at these people."

When asked to specify which country was involved, Trump refused to provide details. "A country wanted to try and renegotiate the terms of their trade deal," he explained. "And I wasn't happy about it." Upon further questioning, he tersely replied, "Why would I say that to you?"

In recent months, the United States has conducted trade negotiations with several nations including Japan, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Additionally, Trump engaged in discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping during their meeting in South Korea this October, with both parties reporting progress in ongoing trade talks.

During these discussions with China, Trump indicated that Xi agreed to help the United States address the fentanyl crisis. In exchange, Trump committed to reducing tariffs on Chinese imports by 10 percent, bringing the rate down from 57 percent to 47 percent.

Trump also mentioned his decision to forgo implementing an additional 100 percent tariff on Chinese products that had been scheduled to take effect on November 1, following China's announcement to postpone its planned export restrictions on rare-earth magnets by one year.

After his meeting with Xi, Trump expressed optimism about establishing broader trade terms soon. "Zero, to 10, with 10 being the best, I'd say the meeting was a 12," he stated. "A lot of decisions were made ... and we've come to a conclusion on very many important points."
