Gaza Civil Defence Says 450,000 Palestinians Have Fled Amid Israeli Attacks

Israel announced on Friday its intention to deploy "unprecedented force" in Gaza city as the conflict intensifies.

Gaza City:

According to Gaza's civil defence agency on Friday, approximately 450,000 Palestinians have evacuated Gaza City since Israel initiated its military operation to capture the territory's largest urban area.

"Since the commencement of the military operation on Gaza City in August, the number of citizens displaced from Gaza to southern areas has reached 450,000 people," stated Mohamed al-Mughayir, an official from the rescue organization operating under Hamas authority.

The Israeli military, which has been urging residents to evacuate as it advances its ground assault, informed AFP that it estimated "approximately 480,000" individuals had departed from the city.
