Miraculous Escape: Driver Survives After Car Plunges Down Staircase in Brazil

A dramatic incident in Brazil has been captured on video showing a car plummeting down a steep staircase after veering off the road in Jardim Apura, Sao Paulo. The accident occurred early Saturday morning around 5:30 a.m. when 48-year-old Railson Souza lost control of his vehicle after experiencing a sudden headache while driving.

The shocking footage reveals Souza's silver sedan approaching a sharp curve at high speed before leaving the roadway, crashing through metal railings, and tumbling down a long outdoor staircase. Despite the severity of the crash, Souza miraculously survived with minimal injuries.

Emergency responders had to extract Souza from the severely damaged vehicle. Following medical examination, including scans and X-rays, doctors confirmed he had no broken bones. He was discharged from the hospital just hours after the incident with only a minor scratch on one finger.

The video of the accident has been widely shared on social media, showing the terrifying moment when the car launched off the road and down the stairs.

Visibly moved by his survival, Souza expressed his gratitude saying, "God is marvellous. I'm sore, but I didn't break anything."

Souza explained that he had forgotten to take his high blood pressure medication while returning home from work, which resulted in a severe headache that caused him to lose control of his vehicle.

"I had a bad headache. All I remember about the accident is being down at the bottom of the steps and hearing: 'Railson, calm down!' I don't know how I ended up where I did. Tears fall from my eyes when I watch the video. It was God that protected me at that moment, so that I could be here today," he recounted.

Fortunately, no pedestrians or other vehicles were in the path of Souza's car when the accident occurred, preventing what could have been an even greater tragedy.

Social media users have responded to the video with amazement at Souza's survival.
