Zohran Mamdani demonstrated his more approachable side as a Kendrick Lamar enthusiast during campaign activities over the weekend, just before securing victory in New York City's Mayoral election on Tuesday.
During the Halloween weekend, Mamdani visited numerous nightclubs across New York City as part of his campaign efforts to connect with potential voters.
The now Mayor-elect was captured at Bushwick Grand on Sunday night, dancing to Kendrick Lamar's hit 'Not Like Us.' Online videos show Mamdani enthusiastically enjoying the Grammy-winning artist's track while in the DJ booth, arms raised and sporting a broad smile.

One Instagram user commented on the video: "As a Melbournian (Aus) I've never been so invested in a mayoral race in another country like I have with this one! Come on NYC, get this legend elected."
Another person wrote: "I may not live in NYC, but if Zohran wins, I'm celebrating right along with everyone else."
"I know that's right. If Zohran wins, I wanna see people in NYC partying with champagne and food," added another commenter.
One comment stated: "I don't live in NY or in the US even but I want him as mayor."
Throughout the weekend, Mamdani's campaign took him to various bars and clubs throughout the city, including an early morning visit to a gay bar to engage with voters and gather support before the election.
Mamdani, representing the Democratic party, has now officially won the mayoral race, becoming both the youngest Mayor of New York City since 1892 and the first Muslim to hold this position.
The 34-year-old Democratic socialist previously discussed Kendrick Lamar and Drake's 2024 rivalry in a Pitchfork interview, stating: "I think Kendrick absolutely destroyed him."
Regarding his inspiration from the rapper, Mamdani explained at the time, "I'm trying to do what Kendrick did in the course of that beef, but, specifically, around affordability. At every juncture, he would bring it back to his central points, and I think that's the key, is that you keep coming back to what your core message is. For me, it's about the fact that New Yorkers can't afford to live in the city they call home."
