Erika Kirk Declines Jimmy Kimmel's Apology Following Controversial Remarks About Charlie Kirk Assassination

Following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, his widow Erika Kirk told Fox News she doesn't require an apology from Jimmy Kimmel for his controversial "MAGA Gang" comments. After ABC temporarily suspended Kimmel's show, Erika stated that apologies should only come from the heart, saying "I don't want it. I don't need it." The 31-year-old Kirk was killed on September 10 at Utah Valley University by 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.

What If Kimmel Apologised For Charlie Kirk Remarks? Erika

Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, recently addressed Jimmy Kimmel's controversial remarks in an interview with Fox News' Jesse Watters.

Following the tragic assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Erika Kirk stated she does not require an apology from Jimmy Kimmel. During her Fox News appearance, she emphasized that apologies should be genuine and heartfelt, otherwise they are unnecessary.

The controversy began when TV host Jimmy Kimmel made comments about Charlie Kirk's assassination, referring to the alleged assassin as a member of the "MAGA Gang."

Kimmel specifically said, "We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterise this kid (Tyler Robinson) who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it."

The late-night host also criticized how President Trump expressed grief over the loss of his friend Charlie. After showing footage of Trump responding to reporters about Kirk's death, Kimmel remarked, "Yes, he's at the fourth stage of grief. Construction. Demolition. Construction. This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish, okay?"

Following these remarks, ABC suspended "Jimmy Kimmel Live" indefinitely. Nexstar, a major owner of ABC affiliate solutions, announced it would not broadcast the show for "the foreseeable future." However, the program returned to air approximately one week later.

When asked about the incident, Erika Kirk revealed details about her communication with Sinclair Broadcast Group, which airs Kimmel's show.

"[Sinclair Broadcasting] asked, 'Do you want Jimmy to give you an apology? Do you want to be on his show? How can we make it right?'" Kirk recounted.

She responded through her team saying, "Tell them thank you, we received their note. This is not our issue, not our mess. If you want to say I'm sorry to someone who's grieving, go right ahead. But if that's not in your heart, don't do it. I don't want it. I don't need it."

Charlie Kirk, 31, was assassinated on September 10 during an event at Utah Valley University. The shooter fled after firing a single fatal shot that struck Kirk in the neck.

Police arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson for Kirk's murder. Investigators noted that Robinson was able to blend into the campus crowd due to his college-age appearance. Utah Governor Spencer J Cox indicated that the suspect had become "more political" recently and opposed Kirk's political beliefs.
