Sean "Diddy" Combs Transferred to Fort Dix Prison to Complete 4-Year Sentence with Drug Treatment Program

Hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has been relocated from Brooklyn to New Jersey's Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute to serve his remaining prison term, where he'll have access to drug treatment programs that could potentially reduce his scheduled May 2028 release date as his legal team pursues an expedited appeal.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs Transferred To New Jersey Prison To Serve Jail Term

Sean "Diddy" Combs has already completed approximately 14 months of his 50-month prison sentence.

The music mogul has been relocated to a New Jersey correctional facility to complete the remainder of his four-year sentence related to prostitution charges.

According to the federal Bureau of Prisons inmate database as of Friday, Combs is now incarcerated at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute, situated approximately 34 miles (55 kilometers) east of Philadelphia on the grounds of the joint military base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

It remains unclear when exactly Combs was transferred from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he had been held since his arrest in September last year.

Representatives for Combs and the Bureau of Prisons did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Friday.

Earlier this month, Combs' legal team had requested that a judge "strongly recommend" his transfer to the low-security male prison to enable his participation in the facility's drug treatment program.

His attorney, Teny Geragos, wrote in a letter that FCI Fort Dix, one of several federal prisons offering residential drug treatment programs, would best allow Combs "to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts."

With approximately 14 months of his 50-month sentence already served, Combs is scheduled for release on May 8, 2028, though he may qualify for early release through participation in substance abuse treatment and other prison programs.

This week, Combs' legal team petitioned a federal appeals court to expedite consideration of the legality of his conviction and sentence. The 55-year-old's lawyers stated that he wishes for his appeal to be considered promptly enough that he could benefit from reduced prison time if the appeals court overturns his conviction.

President Donald Trump has mentioned that Combs requested a presidential pardon, though the Republican did not indicate whether he would grant such a request.

The Bad Boy Records founder was convicted in July of transporting his girlfriends and male sex workers across the country for drug-fueled sexual encounters over many years and in multiple locations. However, he was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges that could have resulted in a life sentence.

Before his sentencing, Combs wrote to the judge stating that he had undergone a "spiritual reset" while incarcerated and was "committed to the journey of remaining a drug free, non-violent and peaceful person."
