Putin's Envoy Predicts Ukraine War Resolution Within One Year Following US Diplomatic Talks

Kirill Dmitriev, serving as Russian President Vladimir Putin's special envoy, made a significant announcement at an investment conference in Saudi Arabia, declaring that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine would conclude within a year from now.

This statement follows Dmitriev's recent discussions with officials from US President Donald Trump's administration during his visit to the United States last weekend. Notably, his trip occurred after the postponement of a planned summit between Trump and Putin.

"We are confident that we are progressing toward peace, and as peacemakers, we must ensure this happens," stated Dmitriev, who also holds the position of CEO at the Russian Direct Investment Fund, while addressing attendees in Riyadh.

When questioned about the possibility of achieving peace in Ukraine within a year's timeframe, Dmitriev responded affirmatively, saying: "I believe so." During his time in the United States, he also expressed that Russia and the US were approaching a 'diplomatic solution' to the conflict.

Dmitriev emphasized the importance of cooperation among the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Russia, highlighting their positions as the world's leading holders of natural resources. He asserted that such collaboration would enhance global security.

"Currently, people are focused on the regional conflict surrounding Russia, but we do not want it to escalate into a larger confrontation. To prevent this, we need to improve our approach rather than worsen it," Dmitriev remarked.
