OnlyFans, established in 2016 by British entrepreneur Tim Stokely in London, has emerged as the world's most revenue-efficient company.
According to Barchart data, the UK-based subscription platform now generates an impressive $37.6 million per employee in 2024, significantly outperforming tech giants Nvidia ($3.6 million) and Apple ($2.4 million) per employee.
Operating with a remarkably lean team of just 42 employees, OnlyFans reported $1.41 billion in net revenue for fiscal year 2024, derived from $7.22 billion in total transaction volume. The platform currently hosts over 4.6 million content creators and serves 377 million registered users worldwide.
OnlyFans' business model centers on subscription-based social media, allowing creators to monetize content by sharing directly with their fans. Unlike conventional social platforms, OnlyFans enables creators to earn income through photos, videos, live streams, and messages.
While commonly associated with adult content, many creators utilize the platform for diverse offerings including fitness coaching, music, cooking tutorials, and other non-adult content categories.
The platform operates on a straightforward revenue model: fans pay monthly subscription fees to access creators' content, providing creators with direct income from their audience. Additional revenue streams include tips and pay-per-view content, with OnlyFans taking a 20 percent commission from all earnings.
Since its founding, OnlyFans has experienced tremendous growth, particularly in the adult content sector. In 2021, Fenix International, led by Leonid Radvinsky, acquired a majority stake in the company.
The financial performance of OnlyFans has been remarkable, with pre-tax profits of $684 million and net profits of $520 million in 2024. Creator earnings reached $5.8 billion, while OnlyFans maintained its 20 percent revenue share. During this period, creator accounts grew by 13 percent, and fan accounts increased by 24 percent.
In 2024, OnlyFans distributed $701 million in dividends to its owner, Leonid Radvinsky, further demonstrating the platform's extraordinary profitability and efficiency.
