In Stillwater, a shooting incident at an Oklahoma State University residence hall early Sunday morning left at least three people wounded, according to university officials.
Campus authorities have assured that there is "no ongoing threat to campus" following the incident.
According to preliminary investigations, the shooting occurred when individuals returned to the residence hall after attending a large private off-campus party. University police responded to the scene at approximately 3:40 am.
In a statement published online, University Police Chief Michael Beckner confirmed multiple victims were involved in the incident, with at least one known to be a student enrolled at the institution. A spokesperson for the university confirmed that a minimum of three people suffered gunshot wounds. All victims are currently receiving medical treatment at local hospitals.
Police became aware of the shooting at Carreker East residence hall after victims with gunshot wounds arrived at various off-campus locations and reported the incident.
The university campus is located in Stillwater, approximately 80 kilometers northeast of Oklahoma City.
