Rishi Sunak's Special Bond with In-Laws Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty Revealed at NDTV Summit

Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his in-laws Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty shared heartwarming insights into their relationship at the NDTV World Summit in Delhi. Sudha Murty affectionately called Rishi her "new son," while Narayana Murthy revealed he encouraged Rishi to enter politics due to his intelligence and integrity. The family's mutual respect and close bond were evident throughout their candid conversation.

The bond between their globally renowned son-in-law, Rishi Sunak, a former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and the Murthys - NR Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty - was prominently displayed during the NDTV World Summit in Delhi.

Sudha Murty, the mother-in-law, affectionately referred to Rishi Sunak as "my new son."

"So, I call Rishi my new son. I've dedicated a book to you, Rishi, my new son," Sudha Murty expressed, with her son-in-law present on stage.

Rishi acknowledged this warm gesture with a smile and a namaste.

When asked who listens to her more, her daughter Akshata or Rishi, Sudha Murty chose her son-in-law.

"But Rishi listens to me more, I think. Rishi listens," she remarked.

"I wonder what Akshata would say when she listens to this," Rishi commented humorously.

"Thankfully, she's not here," he added with a smile.

Rishi was equally generous in his praise for his mother-in-law.

"What I learnt from my mother-in-law is her extraordinary compassion and empathy. My wife has it, as my mother-in-law has it. The way my mother-in-law can interact with people from every walk of life is something that's extraordinary, and I want to learn that from her," Rishi Sunak shared.

Shifting to discuss his father-in-law's impact on his life, Rishi Sunak revealed that he was the one who encouraged him to enter politics.

"My father-in-law was very instrumental in my entry into politics. He said to me that you should go into politics, as that's the best way to make a difference," Rishi Sunak explained.

When asked to choose his favorite between his two in-laws, Rishi Sunak diplomatically responded, "Just as you don't pick between your children, you don't pick between your in-laws."

When Narayana Murthy was asked about his assessment of his highly successful son-in-law and why he had encouraged him to pursue politics, he highlighted Rishi's "intelligence, integrity."

"He is intelligent. He was highly accomplished in his work. He is a man of integrity, a man of principles. We have seen so many transactions that have brought these things up. He is a wonderful example of somebody that should be in politics at this point in time in the world," the father-in-law stated.
