New Delhi:

The Israeli Parliament has officially announced plans to gather international support for Donald Trump's Nobel Peace Prize nomination in 2026, dubbing him the "President of peace." This declaration follows shortly after Trump was overlooked for the prestigious award, which was instead bestowed upon Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado. Trump's desire for Nobel recognition has been well-documented throughout his political career.

Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana delivered high praise for the US President's instrumental role in facilitating the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which enabled the exchange of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners.

"President Trump, you are the president of peace. Not a single person on this planet has done more than you to advance peace. No one even came close," Ohana stated following a standing ovation for Trump from the Knesset members.

Ohana continued his accolades: "Your election to the presidency marked a turning point, not only for the United States, but for the entire world. Through your strength of character and unwavering resolve, you brought an end to bloody conflicts in no fewer than eight regions across the globe. In less than nine months, you became one of the most consequential presidents in history."

"You saved countless lives that would have been lost without your leadership... You have proven that true peace is achieved through strength, and that only those who are prepared to use force in the present can prevent the need to use it in the future," the Speaker emphasized.

Announcing the Nobel Prize campaign, Ohana declared: "Therefore, I hereby announce that together with our good friend, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, we will rally speakers and presidents of parliaments from around the world to submit your candidacy for the Nobel Peace Prize next year. There is no one more deserving than you, President Trump."

In his opening remarks, Ohana compared Trump to an ancient historical figure, saying he is not merely "another American president," but a "giant of Jewish history - one for whom we must look back two and a half millennia into the mists of time to find a parallel, in Cyrus the Great," who permitted Jews to return to Israel and rebuild Jerusalem's Second Temple in the 6th Century BC.

"What the world needs now is not appeasers who feed the crocodile in the hope that they will be eaten last, like we have seen at the UN General Assembly, but what the world needs now are more leaders who are brave, resolute, strong, and bold. The world needs more Trumps!" Ohana proclaimed.

Speaking before the Knesset, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged Israel's military efforts to protect its citizens, praising soldiers who "fought like lions." He expressed gratitude to Trump for Operation Rising Lion and Operation Midnight Hammer, military strikes conducted by Israel and the US against Iran. Netanyahu also thanked Trump for defending Israel against "lies" at the United Nations.

"Diplomatic pressure was turned on its head as more and more governments succumbed to Hamas propaganda. Just at that point of maximum pressure on Israel, Trump was elected president, and overnight, everything changed," Netanyahu stated, adding, "Thanks to Trump's unequivocal backing of Israel, we secured a second hostage deal within weeks of your election."
