Leaked Email Reveals Prince Andrew Told Epstein "We're In This Together" Despite Claiming to Cut Ties

Prince Andrew had claimed that he flew to New York to cut ties with Epstein in 2010.

Several months after UK Royal Prince Andrew publicly asserted he had severed connections with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a recently disclosed email reveals the Duke of York was still maintaining communication with his controversial associate.

In an email dated February 28, 2011 - obtained by Daily Mail - Prince Andrew informed Epstein that "we are in the scandal together" and suggested they would "play some more soon".

This communication contradicts Andrew's previous statement that he traveled to New York specifically to terminate his relationship with Epstein in December 2010.

In the correspondence, Andrew wrote, "I'm just as concerned for you! Don't worry about me! It would seem we are in this together and will have to rise above it. Otherwise, keep in close touch and we'll play some more soon!!!!"

He concluded the message with, "A, HRH The Duke of York, KG."

Andrew sent this email to Epstein just one day after the widespread circulation of a photograph showing the Prince with Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein's accusers, alongside Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's close associate who was subsequently convicted of sex trafficking.

The photograph, taken in 2001, depicts Andrew with his arm around Giuffre. She has consistently alleged that Epstein sexually trafficked her and that she was coerced into sexual encounters with Andrew on three occasions between 2001 and 2002. Andrew has repeatedly denied these allegations, claiming he never met Giuffre and suggesting that the widely distributed photograph showing them together may have been "doctored".

During a 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, Andrew claimed he discontinued contact with Epstein in 2006 after learning about investigations into sex offenses and stated he had no further contact until 2010.

"I ceased contact with him [Epstein] after I was aware that he was under investigation and that was later in 2006 and I wasn't in touch with him again until 2010," he stated, adding, "I had to show leadership and I had to go and see him [in December 2010] and I had to tell him 'that's it.'"

Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while being held in a federal jail in New York awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
