With Gaza Truce In Place, Here Are 20 Hostages That Are Set To Be Freed

Israel's Cabinet officially approved President Donald Trump's ceasefire plan for the Gaza Strip early Friday.

Twenty Israeli hostages currently held captive in Gaza are scheduled for release under the ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

These individuals were kidnapped during Hamas's October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, which resulted in the deadliest assault in the country's history.

Below are profiles of the hostages expected to be freed:

Matan Angrest, 22, was captured in his tank near the Gaza Strip border while attempting to prevent Hamas commandos from entering Israel near the Nahal Oz base. From Kiryat Bialik in northern Israel, he is an avid Maccabi Haifa football supporter. His family released a video in April 2025 showing his abduction from his tank. They had planned a trip to Dubai to celebrate his upcoming completion of military service.

Gali and Ziv Berman, 28, twin brothers who were abducted from the youth area of Kfar Aza kibbutz, which Hamas attackers set ablaze. The inseparable siblings worked together in music production and support Maccabi Tel Aviv and Liverpool football clubs. Their parents and older brother survived the attack.

Elkana Bohbot, 36, was producing the Supernova music festival alongside childhood friends Michael and Osher Waknin when the attack occurred. Married to a Colombian woman and father to a young boy, he resides in Mevasseret Tzion near Jerusalem. Colombian President Gustavo Petro granted him Colombian nationality in November 2023. His wife received proof of life in February 2025. Bohbot appeared in a May Hamas video alongside fellow hostage Yossef-Haim Ohana, looking visibly weakened.

Rom Braslavski, 21, an Israeli-German from Jerusalem, worked as security at the Supernova festival. He remained at the scene helping protect others before his disappearance. Both his hands were injured during the attack. In August 2025, Islamic Jihad released a video showing him appearing weak and thin.

Nimrod Cohen, 21, was shown in Hamas videos being dragged from his assault tank with three other soldiers near Nahal Oz kibbutz. The other soldiers were killed and their bodies taken to Gaza. From Rehovot, south of Tel Aviv, Cohen's parents have advocated tirelessly for hostage release. His mother keeps his partially burned Rubik's cube that was recovered from his tank.

David and Ariel Cunio, 35 and 28, Israeli-Argentinian brothers kidnapped with several relatives from David's home in Nir Oz kibbutz. Attackers set fire to the house to force them out, taking eight family members hostage—the most from a single family in the October 7 attack. Six relatives have since been released. Israeli director Tom Shoval presented "A Letter to David" at the Berlin Film Festival, which later won Israel's prestigious Ophir award for best documentary.

Evyatar David, 24, was confirmed kidnapped when his parents saw a photo posted on Telegram showing his face illuminated by torchlight. He attended the Supernova festival with childhood friend Guy Gilboa Dalal, who was also taken. From Kfar Saba in central Israel, he worked in a cafe saving money for a trip to Thailand. Hamas released propaganda footage in August 2025 showing David severely undernourished.

Guy Gilboa Dalal, 24, was attending his first rave party at Supernova when abducted with three friends. His family saw a video of him and best friend Evyatar David bound in a Gaza tunnel. A freed hostage reported in June that Gilboa Dalal had been harmed by captors. He appeared in February 2025 and September Hamas videos. A Japanese culture enthusiast, he learned the language hoping to visit Japan someday.

Maxim Herkin, 37, an Israeli-Russian who moved to Israel from Ukraine with his mother, lives in Tirat Carmel in northern Israel. Father to a five-year-old daughter who lives with her mother in Russia, he messaged his mother "All is well. I'm coming home" before being kidnapped from the Supernova festival. Hamas released footage in spring 2025 showing Herkin lying down with apparent injuries.

Eitan Horn, 39, originally from Argentina, was kidnapped with his elder brother Yair from the latter's home in Nir Oz kibbutz. Eitan lives in Kfar Saba, works in education and was involved with youth movements. His diabetic brother Yair was released in February 2025.

Segev Kalfon, 27, from Dimona in southern Israel, worked at his parents' bakery in Arad. A childhood friend reported he was captured while hiding in bushes along Route 232 near the Supernova festival. A released hostage confirmed to Kalfon's family they had been in captivity together.

Bar Kuperstein, 23, an army nurse who remained at Supernova to help wounded victims before being abducted himself. From Tel Aviv suburb Holon, he played a crucial role in his family after his father suffered a disabling accident. Videos showing him bound emerged shortly after the attack.

Omri Miran, 48, an Israeli-Hungarian therapeutic masseur, was taken from his home in kibbutz Nahal Oz in front of his wife and two young daughters. He appeared in Hamas videos released in April 2024 and April 2025. His father Dani Miran told AFP he was growing his beard in solidarity with his son, who appeared bearded in the footage.

Eitan Mor, 25, was working as security at Supernova when abducted. From a religious Jewish family in the Kyriat Arba settlement in the occupied West Bank, his father Tzvika Mor founded the Forum of Hope, a group of hostage parents opposing negotiations with Hamas.

Yosef Haim Ohana, 25, from Kyriat Malakhi in southern Israel, worked as a bartender at Supernova and planned to begin coaching studies. He was seen helping injured people before attempting to escape. He appeared alongside Elkana Bohbot in a Hamas video released in May 2025.

Alon Ohel, 24, a talented pianist with Serbian and German nationality, was preparing to start music studies after returning from Asia shortly before being captured at Supernova. From Lavon village in northern Israel, his family received confirmation in February 2025 that he was alive but wounded and without medical treatment.

Avinatan Or, 32, a British-Israeli dual national from a religious Jewish family in the Shilo settlement in the occupied West Bank. His partner Noa Argamani was abducted with him at Supernova but freed in an Israeli military operation in June 2024. He studied engineering and planned to live with her in Beersheva.

Matan Zangauker, 25, was kidnapped from Nir Oz kibbutz with his Israeli-Mexican girlfriend Ilana Gritzewsky, who was released in November 2023 during the first war truce. His mother Einav Zangauker and Gritzewsky became prominent figures in the hostage release campaign. Zangauker enjoys aeromodelling and worked on the kibbutz's medical cannabis farm.
