Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced on Friday the inauguration of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) experience zone and design studio in London, reinforcing its ongoing strategic investments across the United Kingdom.
The multinational IT services provider also revealed plans to create 5,000 new jobs in the UK over the next three years, as part of its continuous investment in job creation and talent development initiatives.
TCS has established itself as a significant contributor to the UK economy over the years. During the fiscal year 2024, the company contributed 3.3 billion euros to the UK economy and over 780 million euros to the national exchequer.
"TCS has been a leading technology partner to UK enterprises for over 50 years, leading digital transformation and supporting talent development," the IT giant stated.
The company has also generated substantial employment opportunities in the country, supporting approximately 42,000 jobs both directly and indirectly.
Jason Stockwood, Minister for Investment, United Kingdom, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I was delighted to visit the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) campus in Mumbai to see their technological innovation first-hand. For nearly 150 years, Tata Group has reflected their leadership in entrepreneurship and philanthropy."
He added, "As we celebrate a landmark Prime Ministerial visit to India, we have reaffirmed the pledge between our two economies to maximise on the trade deal we signed in July."
The AI Experience Zone and London Design Studio represent a reimagination of TCS's flagship PacePort facility, designed to foster innovation and client collaboration throughout the UK, demonstrating the company's commitment to the region.
The London studio marks TCS's second design hub, following the New York Design Studio launched in September. It will leverage TCS's extensive innovation ecosystem built in partnership with various stakeholders, academic institutions, and startup enterprises across the UK.
Earlier, a business delegation accompanying UK Prime Minister Kier Starmer visited the TCS Banyan Park campus in Mumbai.
Vinay Singhvi, Head-UK and Ireland, TCS, emphasized, "The UK is TCS's second-largest market globally, making it central to our investment strategy around the world. The AI experience zone will further help to foster innovation in collaboration with businesses throughout the UK, helping in maintaining an edge in artificial intelligence and new technologies."
