Trump Undergoes Second Medical Exam of 2025: Health Concerns and Presidential Fitness at 79

At 79, Donald Trump faces his second medical examination this year amid questions about his chronic venous insufficiency diagnosis and visible health concerns. While the White House maintains he's in good health with normal cardiac function, Trump insists he's physically and mentally fit, highlighting his perfect cognitive exam score compared to other presidents.

I Feel Very Good Physically, Mentally: Trump As He Heads For Medical Test

Donald Trump is scheduled for his second medical examination this year on Friday, with the oldest elected US president confidently asserting that he remains in "great shape."

At 79 years old, Trump will speak to military personnel at Walter Reed hospital near Washington DC before undergoing his medical evaluation.

This examination comes three months following the White House's announcement that Trump had been diagnosed with a vein condition, after public speculation regarding frequent bruising on his hand and noticeable swelling in his legs.

Earlier this week, White House officials referred to Friday's appointment as an "annual" check-up, despite Trump having already completed one in April.

In an Oval Office statement to reporters on Thursday, Trump clarified, "I'm going to do a sort of semi-annual physical."

"I'm in great shape, but I'll let you know. But no, I have no difficulty thus far... Physically, I feel very good. Mentally, I feel very good."

The Republican former president then launched into one of his characteristic comparisons between his health and that of previous presidents, particularly focusing on his Democratic predecessor Joe Biden.

Trump highlighted that during his previous examination, "I also did a cognitive exam which is always very risky, because if I didn't do well, you'd be the first to be blaring it, and I had a perfect score."

He continued: "Did Obama do it? No. Did Bush do it? No. Did Biden do it? I definitely did. Biden wouldn't have gotten the first three questions right."

Despite public interest in the health of America's commander-in-chief, Trump has frequently faced accusations of lacking transparency regarding his medical condition.

In September, he dismissed circulating social media rumors about his health, including false claims that he had died.

The White House revealed in July that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a benign but chronic vein condition, addressing speculation about his bruised hand and swollen legs.

Officials explained that the hand bruising was related to the aspirin regimen he follows as part of a "standard" cardiovascular health program.

Trump is often observed at public events with heavy makeup on his right hand's back area to conceal the bruising.

Following his last medical examination, the White House reported that Trump was in good health, stating he had "normal cardiac structure and function, no signs of heart failure, renal impairment or systemic illness."
