Vikram Rai: GE Aerospace CEO Leading South Asia's Aviation Future at NDTV World Summit 2025

Vikram Rai currently serves as the CEO of GE Aerospace for the South Asia region.

The upcoming NDTV World Summit 2025 will take place on October 17-18 in New Delhi, bringing together global thought leaders and innovators to address pressing challenges and opportunities that will shape the next decade. During this prestigious event, Vikram Rai will participate in a key session titled "The Future Takes Flight." In his presentation, Rai is anticipated to deliver valuable perspectives on aerospace technology advancements, regional innovation initiatives, and transformative strategies currently revolutionizing the aviation and aerospace industries.

Vikram Rai's professional background includes nearly two decades of extensive experience in the civil aerospace sector, with particular expertise in airline and airport operations. His career journey began at HBE-Aviosec, an emerging startup focused on airports and broadcasting, where he served in progressively responsible positions from 2002 through 2007. Following this experience, he assumed the role of General Manager at Rolls-Royce.

Joining GE Aviation in 2012, Rai has held numerous senior leadership positions throughout his tenure. Since 2017, he has spearheaded the commercial engines business across South Asia. His appointment as CEO for South Asia at GE Aerospace came in July 2023, where he now oversees the company's expansion efforts throughout India and neighboring countries. Under his strategic guidance, GE Aerospace has secured several record-breaking engine orders from regional airlines, establishing some of the industry's largest contracts worldwide.

The Economic Times recognized Rai's exceptional business acumen in 2021 by naming him to their prestigious "40 Under Forty" list of India's most promising business leaders. His visionary leadership has been instrumental in driving GE Aerospace's substantial growth throughout the Indian market.

Residing in New Delhi, Vikram Rai shares his life with his wife, Dr. Arpita Mahajan Rai, who serves as an Assistant Professor of Anatomy, and their son. Outside his professional responsibilities, he maintains an enthusiasm for cricket, enjoying the sport whenever his schedule permits.

Academically, Rai holds a bachelor's degree in electronics engineering from the Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science at Nagpur University.
